How Do I Join an ONERO™ Class for Osteoporosis?

Join an ONERO™ Class for Osteoporosis

To join an ONERO™ class, you’ll first complete a physiotherapy assessment to ensure the program is safe and appropriate for your needs. Then you’ll register for a term-based schedule at our Newtown clinic. All sessions are supervised, and booking is required to secure your spot.

Do I Need a Referral to Join?

No, you don’t need a referral to join ONERO™ classes. However, if your GP has provided a GP Management Plan (EPC), you may be eligible for Medicare rebates on your initial assessment and review appointments (conditions apply). We welcome referrals from GPs, specialists, and allied health providers.

What Happens During the Assessment?

Before joining the group sessions, all new participants must complete a one-on-one initial ONERO™  assessment. This ensures your safety and helps us personalise your ONERO™ plan.

During the assessment, your physiotherapist or exercise physiologist will:

  • Review your medical and bone health history
  • Assess your strength, mobility, balance, and posture
  • Provide education on safe lifting technique
  • Customise exercises for your current ability level

This step ensures you enter the program feeling confident and prepared.

What’s Included in the ONERO™ Program?

The ONERO™ program is an evidence-based osteoporosis treatment framework designed to improve bone density, balance, and fracture prevention.

Each class includes:

  • Progressive resistance training using weights and functional movement
  • Impact loading exercises to stimulate bone growth
  • Balance and coordination work to reduce fall risk
  • Supervised instruction from a accredited physiotherapist or exercise physiologist.

Classes are capped to ensure personal guidance. You’ll follow a term-based structure (11 weeks), with a 12th week reserved for make-up sessions.
