Martyn is the co-Director of Active Physiotherapy Newtown. He has over 14 years of experience as a physiotherapist, and is particularly practised in helping clients with jaw pain/TMJ, headaches, hip and lower back pain. He is the go-to-guy for more complex cases when all else has failed. He is also proficient in the use of some more specialised forms of treatment, such as craniosacral therapy and dry needling. He believes it is important for you to understand what is happening to your body, and works to empower you to eventually manage pain or discomfort for yourself.

Martyn graduated from the University of Sydney, and has completed postgraduate certifications in Sports Physiotherapy and cycling assessment, as well as certifications in more complex assessment and treatment of thoracic, ribs and pelvis. He is a qualified yoga teacher through Yoga Alliance.

Martyn has worked with international and Commonwealth Games athletes. He has had a long involvement with various sports at a very high level including acting as Head Physiotherapist at the Sydney Cricket Club. He has played first grade Subdistricts rugby union. He is an active surf lifesaver at North Bondi SLSC, where he has won a national medal in surfboat rowing for the club, and has been involved in training young lifesavers in the Bronze medallion.
